Kocoon - Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, and using Kocoon, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms apply to parents, guardians, and caregivers acting on behalf of children.

2. Use License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Kocoon on your personal device subject to these terms. You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access the source code
• Remove copyright notices or proprietary markings
• Circumvent parental controls or security features
• Use the app for any unlawful or harmful purpose
• Distribute, sell, or rent the app or its content
• Share your account credentials with others

3. Content License

Kocoon displays content from YouTube via the YouTube Data API. All YouTube content is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service. We do not own, create, or control YouTube content. We are not responsible for content accuracy, availability, or legality.

4. Parental Responsibility

Parents and guardians are responsible for:

• Monitoring their child's use of the app
• Setting and maintaining a secure parental password
• Configuring appropriate parental controls (time limits, content filters)
• Reviewing usage history and watch activity
• Protecting their login credentials

We provide tools to help parents monitor and control content, but we do not accept liability for how parents use those tools or what children access.

5. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

Free Tier (7-Day Trial): All users get a 7-day free trial with limited features (60 min daily video, 60 min lifetime Calm Mode).

Premium Tier: After the trial, premium subscriptions are auto-renewing:

• Monthly: Billed monthly; cancel anytime
• Annual: Billed yearly at a discounted rate

Cancellation: You can cancel auto-renewal in your App Store settings at any time. No refunds are issued for partial months.

Billing: Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store. Apple's billing terms and policies apply. We do not process payments directly.

6. User Account & Password

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
• You are liable for all activity under your account
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
• We are not liable for unauthorized access due to your negligence

7. Parental Control Password

The parental control password protects access to Settings, Parental Settings, and other restricted features. If you forget your password:

• You can reset it in the app settings
• Resetting will require email verification
• We strongly recommend setting a memorable password to avoid disruption

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• Kocoon is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• We are not liable for interruptions, errors, or data loss
• We are not liable for third-party content (YouTube videos)
• We are not liable for parental control failures or misuse
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app

9. COPPA & Children's Privacy

Kocoon complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar international regulations:

• We do not collect email addresses from children
• We do not share data with advertisers or third parties
• Parents can review, delete, or control data via parental settings

10. Age Restrictions

Kocoon is designed for children ages 4-12. Parents must create and manage accounts. By using this app, you represent that you are a parent or guardian of a child and have authority to accept these terms on their behalf.

11. Disclaimer About YouTube Content

Kocoon curates content from YouTube using filters and a parental gate, but:

• We cannot guarantee all content is 100% age-appropriate
• YouTube content changes and may become unavailable
• We recommend parental review of watch history
• Parents can block specific videos or channels in settings

12. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use Kocoon to:

• Harass, threaten, or defame others
• Distribute malware or harmful content
• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Spam or engage in phishing

Violations may result in account termination and legal action.

13. Termination

We may terminate your account if you:

• Violate these terms
• Engage in abusive or harmful behavior
• Attempt to bypass security or parental controls
• Violate applicable laws

Termination is at our sole discretion. No refunds are issued for terminated accounts.

14. Intellectual Property

Kocoon, including all design, text, graphics, and code, is the property of Lawbotic Labs and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without permission. YouTube content is owned by YouTube users and subject to YouTube's terms.

15. Third-Party Services

Kocoon uses third-party services including:

• YouTube Data API: Subject to YouTube's Terms and Google's Privacy Policy
• Firebase (Google): For authentication and analytics, subject to Firebase Terms
• Apple App Store: For subscriptions and app distribution, subject to Apple's Terms

We are not responsible for these third-party services.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the app after updates means you accept the new terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.

17. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflicts of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of India.
